🔹 US equity markets remained closed yesterday due to the Memorial Day holiday.
🔹 European equity markets ended higher, gaining between 0.20% and 3.08%.
🔹 Asian equity markets are witnessing mixed trading today.
🔹 GIFT Nifty is trading nearly flat, indicating that Nifty Futures may open around the 24,030 level.
🔹 India and Canada are working towards finalising a trade agreement this year. Both countries aim to increase bilateral trade to USD 50 billion by 2030. Following recent high-level meetings, both sides are focusing on expanding economic cooperation, including partnerships in energy, agriculture, and technology sectors. A large Indian business delegation is also participating in these discussions.
🔹 In Asian markets, South Korea’s Kospi touched a fresh record high of 8,094.90 on Tuesday, while the small-cap Kosdaq index gained 2.12%. Meanwhile, Japan’s Nikkei slipped 0.18% and Topix declined 0.36%.
🔹 Crude oil prices rebounded sharply after falling more than 7% on Monday. Fresh reports of military strikes in Iran have raised doubts over a possible peace agreement between Tehran and Washington. This has weakened hopes of the Strait of Hormuz reopening smoothly. Brent Crude climbed close to USD 98 per barrel.
