U.S. equity markets closed slightly lower on Tuesday, ending their longest winning streak since May. The decline was primarily driven by profit booking in major technology companies.

European equity markets ended largely flat.

Asian equity markets are trading slightly lower as caution prevails among investors after Wall Street’s pullback from record highs. MSCI’s regional index fell by 0.2%, with technology shares leading the decline.

GIFT Nifty is almost unchanged, and Nifty futures are likely to open around the 25,220 level.

U.S. crude oil inventories fell by 1.8 million barrels, leading to a modest rise in oil prices. Brent crude moved closer to the $66 per barrel mark.
